My Gift from God

Thirteen years ago, when my husband proposed to me, he did so by washing my feet. He knelt down before me and explained that he wanted to follow the example Jesus had set that as a leader one must be first a servant. I have been amazed over the past twelve years of our marriage just how much Artie has been a servant-leader.

As a stay-at-home mom, it is my responsibility to keep house, cook meals, take care of the kids, homeschool, run errands and anything else you can think of. As spiritual priest of our home, Artie has come alongside me and done the laundry, washed dishes, cooked meals, cleaned the house, ran errands, and just about everything I do on a daily basis. He has shown that he doesn't see these things as my job only, but that as the one in whom God has placed the role of headship, he must not only lead in word, but in his actions as well.

I am so thankful for the gift of my husband and the blessing that he is in my life. Thank you Artie for always encouraging me to live out my life's purpose. Thank you for loving me the way Christ loves His bride, by dying to self and placing my needs and happiness above your own. Thank you for lovingly leading our family and showing your love for us by putting us first. Thank you for being Christ with skin on!
